
Obverse (shown) β features Sanssouci Palace (Schloss Sanssouci) in Potsdam, the famous summer residence of Frederick the Great, with its distinctive terraced vineyards and central fountain. Inscription “BRANDENBURG” at the bottom, year “2020” at the top, mint mark “D” at the bottom, and “FΒ·S” (designer’s initials) visible upper area.
Reverse (standard EU side) β features the numeral “2 EURO” with the EU map and 12 stars.
About Sanssouci Palace
Built between 1745β1747 for Frederick the Great (Friedrich II), the name means “without worries” in French. It is one of the most important Rococo palaces in Germany and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, along with the surrounding park.
