About the Polish Złoty The złoty (meaning “golden”) is the official currency of Poland. The current “new” złoty (PLN) was introduced in 1995 following the denomination of the previous currency. The 2 złote coin is a bimetallic coin, often easily recognized by its distinct two-tone appearance, and is one of the most common coins used in daily transactions across Poland.
